At Kubicek Balloons, safety is paramount! Here are essential safety tips on using the quick release to ensure a smooth and secure takeoff:

1. Always use the quick release on every takeoff, even in calm conditions.

  • It helps the pilot build a routine, reducing the chance of forgetting it when needed.
  • Minimizes the risk of injury to bystanders or passengers from unexpected basket movement.

2. Use the quick release to hold the basket before takeoff, not the crew.

  • Prevents lifting a person hanging outside the basket.
  • The crew can push the basket horizontally but should never put weight on it before takeoff.

3. Never detach the quick release on the ground; do it after the balloon starts climbing.

  • This minimizes the risk of hitting obstacles.
  • Never release the quick release when the balloon is moving horizontally or downward to avoid hitting something.

4. Always store the quick release inside the basket after takeoff.

  • Leaving it hanging on the burner frame can cause injury during landing.
