If there’s a harness in your basket — you are required to use it.

Why?

  1. Mandatory in the EU under BOP.BAS.175:

“The pilot-in-command shall wear the system at least during landing.”

  1. Required by the Kubíček Flight Manual, Chapter 4.5.2 – Approach:

Pilot Restraint (if fitted): Wear and adjust, connect the strap.”

• There have been several accidents where pilots were ejected from the basket, some resulting in serious or fatal injuries.
