How does it work?

Here’s how the inspection works from start to finish. You can choose between on-site service or bringing your balloon to our factory—either way, we keep the process simple, efficient, and easy to follow.

Planning & Preparation

We’ll agree on a date that fits your schedule and can combine multiple balloons in one visit if needed. If you send documentation in advance, we can make the on-site inspection even smoother. Everything is planned to save you time.

On-Site/Factory Inspection

Our technician arrives, walks through the process with you, and starts the inspection. We carefully check the envelope, burner, fuel system, basket, tanks, and equipment. It’s a thorough inspection focused on safety and real condition—not just ticking boxes.

Service & Repairs

Small issues can often be solved immediately on site. If something more complex comes up, we’ll arrange everything with you and take the necessary components to our factory for repair—quickly and without unnecessary back-and-forth.

Documentation & Handover

You receive complete inspection records and logbook entries. All documents are clear, transparent, and delivered without delay. Your balloon is ready for continued safe operation.

Who is this inspection for?

This inspection is for balloon owners and operators who need to complete their mandatory annual or 100‑hour inspection to keep their aircraft airworthy and compliant. Without a valid inspection, the balloon cannot be operated.

As a certified CAO and the balloon manufacturer, we are fully authorised to perform these inspections—and thanks to our manfucaturing experience, we can assess not just compliance, but the real technical condition of your balloon.

What do I need to prepare for the inspection?

The following documents are required for the inspection to take place:

Certificate of Registration
Certificate of Airworthiness
Valid insurance
Complete logbooks and maintenance history
Records of last inspections

If the balloon was not manufactured by Kubíček, then also :

Flight Manual
Maintenance documentation and records
Overview of AD (Airworthiness Directives) compliance
Status of Service Bulletins (SB)

Additional Requirements

Approved Maintenance Programme (AMP) - (or request us to prepare one)
Signed Owner Declaration
Agreement with CAO organisation - if the hot-air balloon was registered with another CAO
Aircraft available for inspection - We will arrange together the exact date and conditions how to do that

What do we check?

The inspection is comprehensive and coveres the entire balloon system:

We will review all documentation belonging to the balloon. We will make sure all of your Manuals are up to date and check the serial numbers of all your parts. We will review your logged flights in the log book and check if all of your AD are noted.
We will examine the whole balloon system according to its Maintenance Manual. According to the condition of the system we will decide if a test-flight is required to examine flight performance and fuel consumption.
We will examine the fabric condition. If its strength is uncertain, a sample will be taken for testing.
The burner will be serviced according to the Maintenance Manual. Movable parts and valves will be cleaned, including the "whisper burner" and pilot flame. We will replace all used and worn sealing o-rings.
We check completeness of the basket equipment.
