All tools. One app. Built for balloon pilots.
Display real-time flight metrics including altitude, vertical speed, wind entries, fuel status, and endurance.
Range Measure bearing and distance from your present position.
Measure bearing and distance between any two points on the map.
Set a reference altitude to display relative ± altitude from a selected level. Integrated with the Vertical Speed Indicator - tap to toggle reference mode.
Display projected landing area based on logged winds aloft.
Calculate projected landing points using the configured LOW and HIGH descent rates and logged winds aloft.
Toggle between chart view and satellite imagery.
Lock the map to your balloon position with a forward offset, keeping more terrain visible in your direction of flight.
Enter your balloon fleet and configure fuel tank setup.
Create & manage waypoints and share it with your crew.
Review and edit logged flights, analyze routes in Track Viewer, and clean recorded track data after landing.
Perform weight and loading calculations in accordance with the Kubicek Flight Manual.
Open Map Manager to control app overlays, KML overlays, and offline areas. Powered by MapTiler.
KML Overlays
Import your own KML layers, then keep only the overlays you need for this flight.
App Overlays
Switch built-in map overlays on or off for a clean, readable view in the basket.
Offline Areas
Download map areas around your waypoint before takeoff so navigation stays available with weak signal.
Share your live track, monitor connected pilots in real time, and view your driver on the map.
Access operational checklists aligned with the Kubicek Flight Manual.
Calculate wind trajectories, view METAR/TAF reports, and launch Windy for advanced weather visualization.
Map rotation
Enable map rotation. Default orientation is North-up. When enabled, rotate the map with a gesture to set your preferred orientation.
Auto takeoff detection
Enable or disable automatic takeoff detection. When disabled, flight timing and logging must be started manually.
Magnetic variance
Set signed magnetic correction in degrees (east positive, west negative). This value is applied to Heading and Bearing. When set to O, instruments display true heading/bearing.
Planned flight duration
Set planned flight duration used for landing area estimation and flight time management.
Trackpoint interval
Set trackpoint recording interval.
Envelope types list
Add and manage your envelope types. Standard passenger weight: Set default passenger mass used by loading calculations.
Descent speeds
Set LOW and HIGH descent rates used for landing point calculations.
Units
Configure units for altitude (AMSL/AGL), distance, ground speed, wind speed, vertical speed, mass, fuel, and temperature.
HotAir import
Import flights, track data, and waypoints from a HotAir.sqlite backup file into Flymate.
View recorded winds aloft from the current flight.
Monitor fuel status, consumption, and calculated endurance.
View detailed metrics for your current flight.
Calculate wind trajectory from forecast models.
Display nearby METAR and TAF reports.
Open Windy for advanced meteorological overlays and forecasts.
Open Map Manager in the FlyMate app menu.
From there, you can easily add and manage your KML files.
